Legislative Priorities for Community ACtion Network

The remainder of the 115th Congress will be very busy for the Community Action network. From working on our newly introduced legislation that combats the opioid epidemic, to working our CSBG reauthorization bill and getting started on the FY 2019 appropriations process.

Community Action Opioid Response Act

Representatives Betty McCollum (D-MN-6) and Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-19) introduced H.R. 5124, the Community Action Opioid Response Act of 2018. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced S. 2636, the Senate version of this bill.

Appropriations

The appropriations process is vital for the Community Action network. Namely, appropriations regarding CSBG, Weatherization, LIHEAP and Head Start.

Whether it's funding requests, Dear Colleague letters, or actual spending bills, NCAF will always be plugged in.
