Senator Reid, Mayor Sparks Recognize NCAF/ExxonMobil Grant Project

On April 12, 2010 the NCAF/ExxonMobil Weatherization Training Partnership was recognized for it's grant of $500,000 to Community Services Agency ( CSA ) in Reno, Nevada. CSA has long been a leader in weatherization for low income families in Northern Nevada and has used their grant award to partner with Truckee Meadows Community College to provide weatherization training to prepare workers for sustainable careers in the growing field of energy efficiency and weatherization. The ceremony held at TMCC's campus was followed by a ride along observation of an energy audit that was being conducted by students working in the weatherization program at a home in Sparks, NV. CSA's Executive Director, Cloyd Phillips views the grant program as a milestone in the CSA weatherization program.

"We are very pleased to be instrumental in this professional training opportunity for those in our community and for the economic development it affords," he said.

The NCAF/ExxonMobil Weatherization Training Partnership also received a Senatorial recognition from US Senator Harry Reid and commendations from the Governor of Reno and the Mayor of Sparks, NV in appreciation of the Partnership's contribution to their communities.
